David Turner has exhibited widely since 1969 with over thirty one-man exhibitions. His work has been shown all around Australia as well as internationally.
The Labyrinth series of paintings and gouache are based on North American Indian Art.
In 2000 my wife and I visited the United States to catch up with our son who was a ski instructor at Mammoth Mountain.
We spent several weeks touring California and Arizona. Along the way we stayed a night in Williams, Arizona and there we visited an Indian store selling Zuni jewellery.
Zuni jewellery is exquisite, as the designs are based on triangles, open circles, coils, diamonds, scrolls, arches and meanders.
On returning to Australia I bought several books that enabled me to explore their culture further, which ended up with these works you see here and also a book about the labyrinth to be published later this year.
